Malware auf i2pbrowser.net

Wir wurden kürzlich auf die Existenz von i2pbrowser.net aufmerksam gemacht. Diese Website ist eine Kopie unserer Homepage und Downloadseite, und versucht, Windowsnutzer zum Herunterladen von Windows-Schadsoftware zu bringen.

Es gibt mehrere Anzeichen dafür, dass es sich bei i2pbrowser.net um eine Website mit Schadsoftware handelt:

• Die Domain wurde am 10. Februar 2014 registriert.
• Die Download-URLs für Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, Android usw. zeigen alle auf die gleiche Programmdatei.
• Die .exe ist nur 741 KB, das offizielle Windows-Installationprogramm für I2P ist 13 MB.

We have not examined the malware ourselves, but it does not appear to be very sophisticated; it is not integrated into or bundled with the I2P software. Information security expert Lance James posted a tweet labelling it as "a standard dark comet rat".

Spread the word. The only official download locations for I2P are linked on our download page. All I2P download packages are GPG-signed by the release signing key.
